Henry comes home

Henry burst through his front door. “Hope, where are you?”

“Taking a bath.”

Doing his best to stifle a grin, he entered the small bathroom. Jazz music filled the room from a charging iPad.

“How was your trip?”

“Good, I learned something interesting?”

“Oh,” she said with little interest.

“Your two month affair with Jason.”

Tears trickled down her face. “I am so sorry. We never meant for you to get hurt.”

“Do you love him?”

“Yes, I’m so sorry.”

With a guttural scream he tossed the iPad into the water. Hope’s body convulsed.

“Tell Jason, I forgive you both.”

  1. Dear Cole,

I hope she convulsed because of the ruined iPad and not the five volts from the charger.

(Yeah, I’m the guy that is upset that the flag in Wind Talkers has fifty stars on it in 1944. Go figure)

    Nice try.

  2. We had similar ideas this week, but my hero took a more hands-on approach. I was, with Doug, wondering whether an iPad would have enough juice to kill. Glad he’s due for an upgrade, although I don’t know that iPads are allowed in prison. These days, probably. 🙂

  3. Dear Cole, So I guess I saved the best for almost last! Cole, this is brilliant and I’m not kidding! I nearly choked on my cola! Great writing and perfectly set up! Wow, I wasn’t expecting this – just awesome!
    Nan 🙂
