To move a harp seal named Coco to the San Francisco Zoo by plane took two months to plan. The first hour of the flight Robert sprayed her with ice cold seawater, fed her fish, and monitored her vitals. He was in the bathroom, when the plane nosedived slamming him into the walls and finally snapping his neck on the vanity sink. Everyone onboard was killed, when it shattered on the face of the mountain. As evening approached a camper eating freshly caught trout, glanced up at Coco sprawled in-between two branches.
“Is that a seal staring though a pipe?”
That would give you quite a start, wouldn’t it? Quite a concept for a story! 🙂

Thanks, it seems most people saw the animal as a sheep.
A seal stuck in a tree would be quite a sight.. All that planning and still that mountain was forgotten
My guess was they were planning to fly over it. I’m sure you know what they say about planning and God’s laughter.
Amazing what you saw in this picture prompt. That alone made me giggle.
It seems I was the only one so far to see a harp seal, go figure. Thanks.
That was a lovely surprise. An unexpected but satisfying ending.
Thank you for taking the time to read the post.
Dear Cole, Good story, but sad. You were not the only one that saw a seal in the tree. I can’t remember who it was, but it was mentioned before. Too bad they didn’t hire a better pilot for the journey. Nan 🙂
Good to know someone else sees things as I do. Thanks
Cole, I wasn’t sure what it was so my story was different. I just made up what the tree had grown around. Good story and creative use of the prompt. Well written. 🙂 —Susan
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
It’s nice to see someone saw something other than a sheep. I felt sorry for Coco and Robert though. The best-laid plans…
Thank you, you know what they say. You make plans and God laughs.
Ah poor Coco!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the story.
